Since I posted my original response, I have found that my phone is actually doing something with voice recognition while this is happening. Interested in figuring this out, because it’s very annoying.

No idea what’s causing this issue, as I’ve looked around for radio towers, wireless radios, etc., but haven’t seen any in the direct area.

Even though I don’t connect via Bluetooth, I did have Bluetooth turned on on my phone, so I tried turning off Bluetooth on my phone the next time, and the issue didn’t show up. I even thought it might be my phone connecting to the public Comcast WiFi signal near my home, so I had my phone forget that connection, and the issue is still there. Then, while using the other car, with no CarPlay and only connected via cable, I had the same issue. Then I thought it was my stereo itself, so I turned off WiFi in my stereo same issue. When I first started having the issue, I thought it was my wireless CarPlay module, so I bypassed that with a cable same issue. I believe that something is causing interference with the Bluetooth module, causing the phone to briefly switch audio output through a channel that is used for voice communication. Occasionally, it never starts playing again, and I have to press play to start playing again. A short moment after it does this in either vehicle, the music will usually pick back up and resume playing normally.

Although I don’t use Bluetooth with the stereos directly, I do believe this is may be a Bluetooth interference issue, because many times, when this happens, my CarPlay stereo will pause music, then automatically switch to my center car speaker and resume playing only through that speaker, which is the only speaker the car uses when using hands free calling. I should also note that I do not use Bluetooth with either stereo directly, but with the CarPlay stereo, I use Bluetooth to connect to a wireless CarPlay device (which also uses a WiFi connection), though it happens when I directly connect to the stereo via cable as well. The issue always happens in exactly the same spot while driving, which is within about a 1/4 mile radius about 1/4 mile from my home, and I’ve never had the issue anywhere else. The issue for me happens with at least two different stereos, one with CarPlay, and one without. Having the same issue, which only started about a month ago.

Also, like I said before, I'm not sure if this is an LG or Android thing, so if anyone can verify that I would also appreciate it.From your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an issue with Apple CarPlay within various apps. Please, tell me there is a way to fix this: it would be greatly appreciated. This happens in my car as well, with my wireless FM transmitter: even the slightest bump or movement of my phone on the car seat and music stops. This feature has basically made the music playback feature of my phone useless, as I can not do any of these things without the music constantly pausing and lowering in volume. I usually have my phone in my pocket and listening to music while working out, jogging or doing housework. I use my phone a lot to listen to music, and one of my biggest issues is if the headphone jack gets moved even the slightest, the music automatically pauses and reduces volume. I'm not sure if this is an Android setting or a LG one, but I'm hoping to find a way for this to stop happening. I have an LG Lucid with Android 2.3.6 and I have a big issue with my music.
